  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: Makes 2 cups 1x
  • Diet: Vegan

Description

This easy homemade cranberry puree is packed with tart and sweet flavors, perfect for smoothies, sauces, desserts, and more. Full of antioxidants and vitamin C, it’s a nutritious and versatile addition to your kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries

  • ½ cup water

  • 23 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Cook the Cranberries: In a saucepan, combine cranberries and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries soften and burst, about 10 minutes.

  2. Blend Until Smooth: Transfer the cooked cranberries to a blender or food processor. Add honey (or maple syrup) and lemon juice, then blend until completely smooth.

  3. Strain for a Smoother Texture (Optional): For an ultra-smooth puree, press the mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove any remaining skins.

  4. Cool and Store: Let the puree cool before using. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.

Notes

Add orange zest or cinnamon for a flavor twist.

Adjust sweetness to taste, depending on the tartness of the cranberries.

Use in smoothies, yogurt, baked goods, or as a topping for oatmeal and pancakes.
