Ingredients
2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
½ cup water
2–3 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
Cook the Cranberries: In a saucepan, combine cranberries and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries soften and burst, about 10 minutes.
Blend Until Smooth: Transfer the cooked cranberries to a blender or food processor. Add honey (or maple syrup) and lemon juice, then blend until completely smooth.
Strain for a Smoother Texture (Optional): For an ultra-smooth puree, press the mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove any remaining skins.
Cool and Store: Let the puree cool before using. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
Notes
Add orange zest or cinnamon for a flavor twist.
Adjust sweetness to taste, depending on the tartness of the cranberries.
Use in smoothies, yogurt, baked goods, or as a topping for oatmeal and pancakes.
