  • Yield: Makes about 1 cup 1x

Description

A fresh, homemade blackberry puree that is smooth, flavorful, and versatile. Perfect for desserts, breakfasts, and beverages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh blackberries, washed

  • 2 tablespoons sugar (optional, adjust to taste)

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Add blackberries, lemon juice, and water to a blender or food processor.

  2. Blend on high speed until the blackberries break down into a smooth consistency.

  3. Place a fine-mesh strainer over a mixing bowl and pour the blended mixture through.

  4. Use a spatula to press the puree through the strainer, removing seeds.

  5. Taste the puree and add sugar or honey if needed, stirring well.

  6. Transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze in portions for longer storage.

Notes

For a thicker consistency, simmer the puree for 5 minutes to reduce excess liquid.

Frozen blackberries work just as well; let them thaw slightly before blending.

Add a pinch of cinnamon or vanilla extract for extra flavor.
